art supplement teacher rec?? i didn't take a class!

<p>I am an avid painter and want the chance to show my work on my application, but the art supplement says that I need to , along with sending a portfolio, "have an instructor who is familiar with my work send a letter of recommendation".</p>

<p>Trust me, I don't do fingerpainting, but I've never taken a class before! I don't have any instructors! How can I show my work and get around this obstacle??</p>
