<p>The Arts Supplement to the Common App has a section for an art teacher recommendation. However, I am a self-taught photographer and do not have an art teacher to recommend me (I am a serious photographer, however - I've been published numerous times). I'm not going to be majoring in art or anything, but photography is a huge part of my life and I definitely think it's important for me to send in a portfolio. What should I do about not having a recommendation? Is it required? I could possibly have an art teacher from my school look at my portfolio and write a recommendation...</p>
