art supplement

Does anyone here know exactly how UPenn art supplement works?

One of my concern is that, in the commonapp website, UPenn (and many other schools) art supplement page, you're required to upload a teacher's/art instructor's recommendation letter. But it seems that you'll have to upload the letter on your own, through your personal commonapp account. What if the teacher does not want to show you the letter and prefers to submit it on their own (like those regular commonapp recs) ?

My daughter submitted an art supplement as part of her ED application. The way it works, at least for music, is that we completed the common application art supplement and mailed it, along with the music cd, to the admissions office. With respect to the letter of recommendation, we just attached it to the art suppliment. I do not know how to keep it confidential.
