<p>yes, interesting, but stops way short of specific help; the author suggests talking to a counselor at orientation, providing background on her child's mental health history, but is that realistic? Do laws vary from state to state regarding privacy? Are counselors bound by confidentiality to the extent that student concerns won't be revealed to other college officials? And what about the warning, here and elsewhere, that when college officials suspect a student might be a danger to him/herself or others, they'll likely be packed home?</p>
