Artificial Intelligence

Does anyone know when the results come out? I been waiting for 3 weeks

Please clarify what program you are talking about. I’m assuming AI4ALL?

Yes, the Artificial Intelligence one I been waiting for 3 weeks. I feel like I’m rejected. So do they send you a letter If you are rejected?

Yes, they will email you your decision. They should be coming out either this week or next week. I think you should be fine!

I am not sure if results are delayed this year. It now says April 1st on my dd’s ai4all application page. Has anyone heard yet?

Which AI4All program are you referring to, @Grrr123 and @love1436 ? There are ten programs now at different universities…

Oh sorry, the Stanford one for freshmen girls @CaliMex

@Grrr123 I couldn’t find any mention of the new notification date on the portal…

Has anyone heard yet?

No.Last year there was a post on CC around April 2nd week. I am not sure if that is the regular scheduled time to release. DD is applying to other local state programs with deadines looming.

I haven’t heard back yet either, but they did say there was a greater volume of applications this year than was expected. Anyone else?

STANFORD AI4ALL decisions are now posted on the portal. Our girl was waitlisted.
Now what?
@GoBears2023 Any ideas of other programs with deadlines that have not yet passed?

@CaliMex

I’m sorry to hear that. There’s still hope though. I would say try Beaverworks. Email the program director and ask if they can fast track you. It worked for a friend of mine so maybe it will work for you as well. This program is relatively cheap and you get to spend 4 weeks in MIT.

@CaliMex - did your dd look into Mathily/Mathily-Er.

GoBears - Beaverworks is for entering seniors.

My dd got into Stanford AI4ALL and Mathily-Er and debating if Stanford’s program is worth it, given the cost. Does anyone have any advice. If she goes to AI4ALL, she might also go to AGAM (which is a one week program only) as there are no conflicts.

We applied for financial aid, which I suspect might have contributed to the admissions decision. There were probably more FA applicants than available funds.

The program used to be free but now costs thousands. Does anyone have any insights as to why that changed?
Have the organization’s goals changed?

@GoBears2023 She also applied to the Future Latino Leaders Law Summit, a one-week program in DC. We won’t hear back about that program until late May. I imagine it is somewhat competitive because it is free? No idea.

Still… I know she wanted to do something Math or Science-related to make up for lack of opportunity at her public middle school… but we can’t afford an expensive program right now. Let me know if you have any ideas for her!

@pmgzb
While the program say that it is for rising seniors, there are many cases where rising sophomore and juniors have gone. I took the online course last year and more than half of the students were rising juniors. They just advertise for rising seniors to deter away some applicants.

@CaliMex
That sounds like a good program, although I’ve never heard about it. I would be very cautious about these “summit” programs though because a lot of them end up being money suckers and don’t really contribute anything to the student. I have other ideas for her, which I mentioned in my PM to you :smiley:

@GoBears2023 The Law Summit is free and you can apply for a travel stipend. That’s why I worry it might be too competitive for a freshman/rising sophomore.

May I ask how your experience with StanforAI4ALL was? Also could you share what stats helped your daughter get into it?
