Artistic acceptances MT/Acting class of 2026

Waitlisted at Guthrie. Wonder how much movement there is on this one usually?

My daughter also auditioned on Feb 12 for UArts and we are still waiting for a reply.

My D is still waiting and she auditioned in December. Maybe she still has a chance:)

Ok, thank you!

Hi! Does anyone know anything about the BA Acting program at the University of Washington? DD was accepted to the school and we are trying to find out more.

Super exciting day for my daughter–she received a call from Bill Jenkins at Ball State!!! This is the happiest I’ve seen her since this process started. Somehow Ball State has gone from being barely on her radar to one of her top two choices. She still hasn’t heard from the other one, but both of us are loving everything we have learned about Ball State, so it is a VERY strong possibility.

Tonight she officially released Nebraska Wesleyan. Both of our stress levels have plummeted.

Here’s wishing all of your children equally happy outcomes!

All three of my girls have been waitlisted at Guthrie and my two older girls both came off the waitlist and got accepted (very late in April; in fact, my oldest D got the call April 30 and needed to ask for an extra day to make the final decision). My third D is now on the WL. All that to say the Guthrie WL DOES tend to move!

Thank you so much for this information. One aspect of Guthrie i find interesting is the fact that kids don’t audition for shows? Show are selected for them with kids in mind for certain parts. I feel that auditioning is a huge part of being an actor and wonder if not auditioning is a good idea?
Also they seem very classical with no on camera courses. Wonder if you could speak to these comments (if you know). Thanks so much! With only zoom it’s hard for parents to get info unlike in person parent info sessions.

I agree it seems odd they get placed in shows vs auditioning (although Purchase was much the same). I don’t know if it’s because they act with their cohort as a Company for four years so they are not competing outside their class. However, the one skill they NEED to work on for four years is auditioning. I also note in the core curriculum there is no acting for the camera but there are masterclasses and electives – perhaps they pick it up there? It’s so unforunate they didn’t have callbacks in person – SO many of these questions got answered by other students!!

(CCM MT) Seems later than in past years
 anyone heard any updates?

Has anyone heard of any NO’s from SUNY Purchase BFA Acting? Still waiting to hear back from them a week after they requested additional stuff

UNCSA does that also, it is to remove the competition, the faculty knows all of the students well by the time they are placed in shows so there is no need for them to audition.
