My son heard from Penn State (BFA Acting waitlist) about 10 days ago. I think no news tends toward be good news. Wishing you well.

yay! what program at Emerson?

WooHoo Tanner!!! Way to go. Ben got waitlisted there and PACE. He’s accepted to Baldwin Wallace, Ithaca, and Purchase. Waiting on UCLA. This is so exciting. I hope she’s thrilled. Emerson is a wonderful school!!!:clap::clap::heart::heart::heart:

Thanks - my son is finding this last bit of waiting a little hard! Strange and long process - hope all our kids land at the exact right spot for them!

D got accepted into Emerson. She didn’t apply to Emerson, but some of her friends who did heard today as well.

D got waitlisted for MT at Emerson! Not a rejection which she will take! Anyone have any insight on if there is movement on Emerson waitlists?

Replying to dharmawins–she only applied to MT programs.

I wouldn’t lose hope, but two years ago the school told my kid in an info session that they accept ~60 to yield 20
so I am not sure how much they go to the WL. A lot of schools over-accept in this same way which makes the WL less clear, unlike schools like Texas State that waitlist a select few and you know if someone says no they will move on to the next! That said, I know a few kids get off the WL every year at Emerson so no reason it can’t be your kid(s)! It can be late though
I recall people getting off the Emerson WL in summertime.

Yeah some of these Waitlists are going to be much tougher to come off of than others. This year Emerson said they would make 65 offers to get a class of 18. So in order to come off the WL 48 people who were made full offers would need to decline. And that’s if you were first on the list of alternates. It would be interesting next time around to ask schools what their accept % was.

Correct. Generally speaking the more expensive schools have to accept more to get their yield. Less expensive schools can be ok with small waitlists bc more people
Will be seeking a “bargain” and commit there. Aka TX State
State or BW.

We anticipated this when she started this process. She has heard from several auditors “we imagine that you are going to have many offers
” Funny. She went for straight “acting” and thankfully she is accepted at an excellent program that she feels great about. Just a few more schools to hear from and then the international programs where she is not holding her breath. Wishing all these kids the best in the process. BAL!
