My daughter submitted her Yale EA application, but had second thoughts about the arts supplement and no longer wishes to submit one to Yale. She had answered "yes" to the "will you send an arts supplement" question on the CA. Will her application be reviewed without the arts supplement, or do I need to call the admissions office during business hours and try to get someone to manually "uncheck" the arts supplement so they will no longer be looking for one? Thanks for any insights!

Generally speaking, applications are reviewed when the Admissions Office has received all required parts of a file – Common Application, transcript, Secondary School Report (SSR), High School Profile, two teacher recommendations, essays, and supplement. As an arts supplement is something extra that is not required, your daughter’s file will probably be reviewed without it.

But, just to be on the safe side, your daughter (NOT YOU) should send an email update to: apply.questions@yale.edu. She should include her full name, high school’s full name and location (city or town, state or province, and country if outside the USA), telephone number, Yale application ID number, and explain that although she checked the “will you send an arts supplement” box, she will not be sending in an arts supplement.

Thanks @gibby for your helpful and reassuring advice!

She did write such an email last night, and got a robo-reply that said “we will only respond to questions for which the information is not on our website - and suggested calling the office during business hours if she needed additional assistance.”

See: <a href=“Connect With Yale Admissions | Yale College Undergraduate Admissions”>Connect With Yale Admissions | Yale College Undergraduate Admissions. At the bottom of the page is a pull-down menu that will provide your daughter with the direct email address of her Regional Admissions Officer. I would have your daughter email the Regional AO and explain that she received an automated reply from the “apply” email and just wanted to touch base with someone and confirm that her application will be reviewed without the arts supplement.

Just to close the loop here, if anyone searches for this question in the future, she got an email back from the admissions office confirming what @gibby suggested above, that they will proceed with normal review of the application, regardless of whether the arts supplement is submitted or not.
