arts supplement + scea

so monday is my deadline to have sent in my arts portfolio for review, and it says that my application must be in before they review my portfolio. i am planning to send my application in on monday, but lets say i notice something at the last second and want to put a little extra work in and send it the next day, it will still get there before my portfolio. is this okay if my application doesn't meet the postmark date for my portfolio but it is there before it????

That is just fine.

Also, even if your arts supplement did get there before your app, it wouldn't be too bad -- they would simply create a file for you. The same happens with recommendations, secondary school reports, etc.

volleysnap, I assume you are aware that Stanford only accepts the commonapp and the Stanford supplement via online submission. The arts supplement of course goes in the mail, but they won't accept anything else in the mail. Check their website, they are very clear about emphasizing this.

Also, remember that while this site has a lot of helpful advice, you should be careful about accepting anything you read here as gospel. Admissions officers on this site self-identify as such - anything else is opinion, so be careful about acting on it if it is contrary to the written instructions on the college website. That is the only input that is definitive.

i understand that it is an electronic submission, which is how i know it would arrive before my portfolio.
this forum is by no means the only source i use with these questions-i also consult my parents, friends, and close teachers. i get a variety of answers and always act on the safe side!!
this question was just a precaution, in case something disastrous happens at the last second. although i don't expect this, it does make me feel a little better to know if or if not i have some wiggle room!!
thank you both for your replies!!

This is the first year that Stanford accepts the common application, and the first year that it HAS to be submitted on line. So no one not working in the admissions office can answer your questions with any authority.
