Hello,

Most of the universities I am applying to allow two teacher academic recommendations.
Can an art teacher be a teacher recommender?

Multiple threads and websites have different information, so I am confused.
Can anybody help?

Depends on what your other rec is and the university. Usually arts teachers are supplemental recs, not academic recs.

(sorry for double post but I cant edit for some reason)
this is why you are getting different information, because different colleges have different rules.

Thanks Guineagirl96 , does each individual website for each university state its own rule? How can I find out what different university’s regulations are?

Usually it will if they have a specific requirement or recommendation (also should state whether they accept additional recs). If its unclear from their website, you can always email admissions and ask.

In general, they want LOR from teachers of the 4 (or 5 including world language) cores. Some would even specify from Junior or Senior. You really should look up the LOR requirement for each school you are going to apply.
