As the admissions cycle turns

D, who was one of the early "subjects" on this site, is currently a Smith grad happily employed in her field (presumably just for a few years before heading back to grad school. We shall see.)

In any event, the latest development is that she now does some area admissions interviews as a Smith alum interviewer.

It is hard to believe that the time from when I was first exploring colleges for her, to her submitting reports on prospective applicants, has gone so quickly.

It is a bit ironic as her "little" (but significantly taller than her!) brother has recently completed his admissions interviews for his own college process.

So we are looking at life from both sides now.

indeed! i started posting here as a smith student, and now am in grad school and serving as the alumnae admissions coordinator in my town (party for prospective students is on Friday!). It all goes by SO fast.

Jyber was one of my initial Smith contact when D was in the initial serious look at Smith during 11th grade. I passed on the fact that Jyber's D is now an alumni interviewer and I think that D can see herself doing that in a year or two.

The moral of this is: Smith is great, pass it on.
