As we stress ourselves out about our futures-- What's your Hogwarts house?

I didn’t take the Pottermore tests, but I took 2 online quizzes and I got Hufflepuff. I wanted to be in Gryffindor just because Harry Potter was in it. I took a different quiz and came out as Gryffindor, but I think it’s since I don’t really fit the personality. I took another one to see what the results were, but now I’m a Ravenclaw.

Out of the 4 houses, Hufflepuff is definitely the least impressive. This goes back to the founding of Hogwarts. While the other founders picked their students based on certain admirable qualities (intelligence, resourcefulness, bravery, and in Salazar Slytherin’s case, pure blood), Helga Hufflepuff just took everyone that was left over.

Hufflepuff witches and wizards kind of got that reputation of just being “normal”, not particularly special- just nice, good-hearted, boring people. They don’t have any particular gifts, so they have to work hard to make up for it. Did Hufflepuff ever even win the house cup? Did Hufflepuff students ever do anything particularly astounding?

@stressed
Cedric Diggory was, indeed, an admirable character. He was the only thing Hufflepuff had going for them…until he died.

@Siriuss
Oh, their mascot’s not a beaver? It’s a BADGER? You’ve done your research! Let me guess, hardcore Harry Potter fan? (BTW, you didn’t pick your username because Sirius Black, did you?)

Still, I’m standing by my original statement. This honeybadger ain’t in no Hufflepuff.

I don’t think Hufflepuff is the throwaway house, just the humble one. The Hufflepuff house isn’t the one for people who don’t fit in anywhere else. It has it’s own characteristics. They’re characteristics which people (wrongly) don’t value much these days.

Breakdown:
5 ravenclaw
5 slytherin
2 gryffindor

Officially Ravenclaw.

I’ve taken a lot of quizzes that go back and forth between Ravenclaw and Slytherin. I got Slytherin on Pottermore though, so I’ll go with that.
Not to go completely off-topic, but how many people are totally disappointed w/ Pottermore? (except maybe the house and wand tests)

Sent from my ADR6400L using CC

I like to think of myself as Ravenclaw, but recent soul-searching had lead me to believe I am more of a Gryffindor type of person. I’m intensely competitive, mostly over physical things, I love leading, saving people and try to sacrifice stuff (publicly) to be good. If I was more discrete I’d say Hufflepuff, but I’m also rather loud, bossy and a bit of a show off.
:D

And yes, pottermore is pretty dissapointing, I thought the sorting particularly so. It was so easy to just choose a house, and the questions were so random it was hard to answer them properly.

What’s wrong with being average? And hard work is the most valuable thing there is.
Helga believed that anyone can work hard and be humble and in that be great.
So what if they aren’t flashy?
But hey hate on hufflepuff. :stuck_out_tongue: But we certainly aren’t a throwaway house

And yes. I’m marrying Sirius black.

And pottermore was very sad. I had great expectations >.<

I got into Pottermore during the beta period and was sorted into Ravenclaw. :D

Pottermore sorting is weird, I have three accounts and have been sorted into a different house all three times.

That being said I like to think that I would be in Ravenclaw (though probably most people on CC would be). I am also in Ravenclaw on a HP fan site I am on (hol.org.uk).

So jealous of Slytherins right now :(

haha, it’s only 24 hours though.

the 1st time I was sorted into Slytherin, but I honestly think I was trying to hard. I made 2 more accounts which both were Hufflepuff though, so it made sense for me :)

I was sorted into Ravenclaw, but I’m not sure if that’s because I was trying to get it or not. I think either Ravenclaw or Slytherin would have made sense for me though.

One thing to remember is that house sorting is not based off of qualities you have, but rather qualities you value.

I’m in Slytherin. Which makes no sense for me. But anyway, we won the house cup whooo!

I see myself as a combination of a Slytherin and a Hufflepuff. I’m ambitious, cunning, and I’ll do almost anything to get ahead. On the puff side, I’m honest, determined, and extremely hard working.

I think it’s both :)

Ravenclaws FTW!!! We’re the best :P

Slytherin!

GRYFFINDOR PWNS ALL.
HP nerdette since '09.

Though I certainly could be a Ravenclaw for my love of books and learning, on the inside I have always secretly hoped and believed I was a Gryffindor. I’m very competitive when it comes to physical activity (and school), I have leadership qualities, I am brave when I’m required to be, and I would sacrifice anything for those I love. So I was ecstatic when Pottermore sorted me into Gryffindor! ^.^

Pottermore said I was a Slytherin. Was totally surprised at first, but after i read Pottermore’s description of Slytherins, it did actually fit me well.
