<p>Has anybody taken this class before? Is there a lot of reading or writing involved? What is the workload like compared to other 3 credit courses? </p>

<p>I took it last semester. There was a lot of reading assigned, a weekly short report (1 page max? can’t recall) based on the reading and/or lecture, and about two/three big papers as far as I could remember. This might be different from how this semester’s class is being taught.</p>
<p>Workload compared to other 3 credit courses? Depends on which courses you are referring to, but it wasn’t bad at all to me. It was a great class if you are very interested in Japan.</p>
