Eh, for the WUSTL Pre-Application Data Sheet, it asks for my ethnicity. I also bumped into this during the Common App and I'm curious to whether I should put down Asian American or just Asian.

Some facts:

I was born in Taiwan (lived there for 5 years then moved to US).
Both my parents are Taiwanese.
I'm a US citizen.

Again, not a big deal, but just curious nonetheless.

Actually, I was thinking Asian-American may refer to birthplace. Next to Asian-American it asks you to complete "country of family's origin" but next to Asian it just says "country."

family's origin means the ancestry. at least that what people i know have been putting on their apps. asian means that you are not a citizen or permanent resident of america. asian american means that you are.
