Class follows a student-taught curriculum. Junior and Senior year I have created the curriculum, and taught the class photography, design and writing on top of setting up the book.
EXTREME progress in 4 years. Went from black and white to full color, to Silver Medalist (Columbia Press Association Award), to State Theme Award and hopefully this year to National Pacemaker. Becoming recognized at national conferences and conventions by publishing companies and JEA (journalism education association).
Truly something that I love to do, spent months in the classroom from 6-11 after track and crosscountry practice cranking out spreads and trying to capture life at my school.

12 Years of Piano-graduation teaching certificate (stereotypical more)

Group of individuals from the bay went to China in 2007 and 2008 to participate in community service events. Visited impoverished schools, organized supplies and promoted Beijing olympics at home. Took language courses at Beijing University and in our final year were volunteers at the Olympic games, helping direct traffic and translating for english-speaking foreigners.

Awards-not sure if these count much:

Yearbook Theme: Endsheet Design - National JEA conference write-off award - Honorable Mention 6th
Yearbook National Gallery of Excellence - A spread I created with my partner was featured.
Gold Award: Yearbook Classroom excellence school recognition
Crosscountry/Track and Field: Coach's Award -rarely given

Should I include our school's yearbook awards we've received? They are a group effort, and so I'm not sure, but I feel they accurately reflect how much I've put into it.
Silver Medalist Certificate (Columbia scholastic press association)
Yearbook Camp award: Theme
Yearbook Camp award: Best Body of Work

A few things might have slipped my mind, but this is pretty accurate. I took every AP/Honors that I could fit into my class schedule (Ironically Yearbook brought my GPA down) and its at a top 50 ranked public high school in a highly ranked district.

Thank you!
