Asian Female w/ Bs - can I even get in anywhere

Junior currently, Bs in Macroeconomics and Calc BC (AP), can I even get into the Ivy League, Penn/Columbia in particular? (BME major probs)

Not enough information. a couple of B’s don’t necessarily make or break an application. Your whole profile will be looked at, gpa, sat, rigor of coursework, rank, ECs, letters of recommendation, special talent. All you can really assess if if your gpa and test scores are in reasonable range. After that you only know by applying. Because even if you ‘can’ get in, doesn’t mean you will because there is only a 10 pct or so admit rate and many more qualified students than seats.

What @BrownParent says is very true, but I think you need to alter your definition of “anywhere”. It’s not like if you don’t get into one of seven schools, you’re condemned to life in a garment factory and if you do get in, untold riches await. Even if you had perfect grades, you should really open up your mind to the idea that perhaps you might be going to some other schools and maybe you might even like them better.

You realize that very few high school students are smart enough to even consider taking Calculus BC? Also that not every school offers BC (only AB)? There are plenty of good schools you could go to. although schools like Penn and Columbia may be far reaches.

what do you call “anywhere”? Just top 25 universities? Top 10 LACs? Top 50?.. Top 100?

Yes, you can get in “somewhere”.

you should google top schools for your major and go down that list until you reach the 35th school. Any further probably won’t have the prestige you are looking for. Factor in the states you are willing to go to, student population, and campus. Whatever you are left with are the schools you should consider really looking into.
