<p>I know Chinese, Filipinos and Indians are not.</p>
<p>Let's sort by countries.</p>
<p>Is Japan or Korea URM among Asians? How about Indonesia and Malaysia? Singapore?</p>
<p>I am sorry but how does this fact matter? Perhaps from the admission point of view it does but even then, if you are not from a country underrepresented, can you change that fact can u? My point is that if you intend to apply to a college, why care about stuff u can’t do anything about? Instead focus on yourself.

<p>Anyway, I don’t think Koreans are URM at all. In fact, check most colleges in the top 20 and you are looking at the number of Koreans being only slightly lower if not equal to # of Indian students. (e.g. MIT)</p>
<p>Oh, and I thought applying for transfer is extremely tough… and it’s even tougher as an international meaning the chances are close to none at top private US colleges… then again I maybe wrong. Good luck! :D</p>
<p>Lol. It would be a reach to say Laos, Cambodia and East Timor. Maybe North Korea as well.

<p>I meant something like the least represented country AMONG the usual Asian countries that send kids to US. Not some uber rare case like Greenland.</p>
<p>To the first reply, I’m not trying to measure my worth using the replies here. Hell, if I were that lame I wouldn’t even be applying to US schools.</p>
<p>A URM applicant has to be US citizens or permanent residents. The information is being reported to the federal government. International students of that race are not counted as URM.</p>
<p>Ivy league and other top schools defend the disproportionately high % of the black student body being children of immigrants from Africa or the Carribean by using the “diversity card.”</p>
<p>Funny how that doesn’t apply to Asians.</p>
<p>And URM for Asians should be Asian ethnicities like the Hmong, Laotians, Cambodians, etc. - but schools generally don’t care - they just want Asians w/ the highest test scores or the deepest pockets (which is why they recruit heavily for overseas students from Korea, India and China).</p>
<p>Burmese people are considered an URM within the Asian ethnicity.</p>
