Asians at kelly

are asians well represented at IU?
according to their website asians make up less than 4% of the student pop

Yes... at the library. Most asians, except the twinkies (like me), hang out with each other in their little asian "cliques"

where do the normal asians hang out?

The seats of mopeds are a popular destination for most. Seriously though, there are many Asian students at Kelley. While it is true that some stick together with other Asian students, many others are friends with diverse groups. It is truly what you make of it.

the reason i asked is because my parents want me to be close to my culture and take part in cultural activities.
from what i heard iu lacks diversity and is a predominantly white community

Keep in mind that internationals make up 6.7% of the population. (and I think they area categorized separately from Asians) Many of the international students are from Asian countries. There seem to be plenty of cultural opportunities on campus for Asian students. The Asian Cultural center is the hub of this activity. Overall 17-18% of IU's population are considered "minorities"

So your parents want you to "be closer to your culture". That's not going to happen even if there are a lot of Americans of Asian race, you have to look for the Asian international students.

Your question should have been "Where do the FOBs hang out?"

lol noo im not a fob!
but many schools have a number of student organizations and a greater percentage of other minority students as well
i feel like college should be an opportunity to be exposed to as many different things as possible, including different ethnicities
it seems like iu is mostly white, just like the town im living in now, it wont give me many opportunities to experience different things

ethnicity is only one part of diversity, try hanging out with music, business, liberal, conservative colorhere students.

I hate how everyone blows up diversity to ethnicity and gender.
