Asians at santa barbara?!

you dont need to go to the party scene if you dont want to. no one is pushing you onto DP or into a house to party. you can make friends very easily as everyone is very friendly, even friends who dont party.

just fyi, DP=Del Playa...a streat in Isla Vista (IV)

i was wondering... how close is DP to manzanita village?

will the party people constantly disturb the people living there?

DP is a good 5? minute walk? in my times at mazanita, i havent heard the music blaring from IV. and even if it does, it won't be loud cause there are trees and other buildings to block some of the sound waves. you'll probably be more concerned about people in your own building playing music or watching a movie too loud

Asian or not, you should get comfortable with humans =)

5 minute walk from Manzanita to DP? It's basically next door. Tr1p7s is right, the noise will be coming from students running around, playing music , etc.

To the OP: What HS did you go to? Just Curious because i'm from San Jose

it depends on which house you're in, in manzanita. although DP is "basically next door," there are houses in mazanita that is a bit farther... don't know some of the houses that are farther away

im weird in that i am the exact opposite! i am an asian girl who was born in michigan and grew up in suburban san diego with a school that is pretty diverse, but definitely not more than like...17% asian. I also was surrounded by asians at chinese school though, and i just want to let you know that you will find that race really has no limits on friendship, and to not be bothered by the fact that it is a 16% asian school.

you might want to read this article from the Daily Nexus [Police Investigate Local Fraternity After Attack - Daily Nexus](http://www.dailynexus.com/article.php?a=18588) I don’t think this reflects the attitudes of most people on campus, but its something to be aware of…

No kidding. That’s complete bullcrap and utterly disgusting.

oh my god that is disgusting. completely vile. blech.

After my son read the article of attack incident, he made a decision to attend UCR instead.

You have a high school aged son and were in high school [last year](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-los-angeles/420923-chance-me-please-post1061482075.html#post1061482075)?

^She had a very early pregnancy :PPPPPP

Is UCR supposed to be safer? This kind of thing can occur at any school you go to.

Things happen at /all/ schools.

Last year link was for my son. It’s true that it could happen at any school. It’s just uncomfortable knowing that such hate crime occured recently. Hope such incident doesn’t occur at SB in the future.

^

wow ur son will not survive college if that article alone was enough to scare him away

^ Agreed
…

Last year link was for my son.

It says “Ethnicity: Asian female” though. Something isn’t adding up here. I’m thinking you’re just ■■■■■ baiting.
