So I would assume that the bussing system is pretty good then?

@umnbound yeah the bussing system is really nice. If all your classes are on one bank/campus you won’t need it. But once you figure out how to use it, it is great.

How many business courses will I take my freshman year if I’m in Carlson? Is it reasonable to live on east bank and go to Carlson?

I’m not sure… Not a ton though. Yes it’s totally reasonable to live on the east bank. I’d actually recommend it.

On a tour not long ago the guide had us come back from Middlebrook Hall to east campus on the bus. We zigzagged through halls and tunnels from Middlebrook until we emerged outside at the bus stop. The street is at a lower level than the main pedestrian ground level. Part of our ‘tunnel’ walk was through ordinary building hallways, and part through larger tunnels. The bus came quickly, not more than 5 minutes. It is free and you can ride the new light rail instead if you prefer. Students get a pass that allows them to ride it free in the campus section of route. It goes downtown and to the Mall of America and the airport as well. If you want to walk between east and west campus, the pedestrian level of the bridge over the river is enclosed so not cold at all, just long. And though it had snowed quite a bit, people were riding bikes. They do a good job at snow removal.

which dorms would you recommend most for an incoming freshman?

just kidding, I see you’ve already answered that. My apologies.

How is the party scene at the U?

For dorms how would you recommend finding a roommate? Have the school randomly select it or…?

@umnbound Frats run the best parties. You can always find house parties but it’s kind of a crap shoot.

@heyoimsam‌ I’d try to find someone you are compatible with on the facebook group, but if you can’t find a roommate you are compatible you just have to hope you get a good one.
