<p>3 GB or more of RAM
at least dualcore, hopefully an AMD X2 Turion or Intel T6500 or higher</p>

do u plan to take the whole yeah of chem or just chem 1a and the chem 1a lab, which is one quarter?
i would suggest taking chem only because it will take you farther with a psychology degree
if u apply to grad school. its a harder class so if u do well it looks good.
but if u r only doing it to get requirements out of the way i would say take oceanography.</p>
