In response to the video posted about... I do have another question.

Exactly how intimidated should I be for only being a small, average looking Asian guy? :D

Thanks GreNerd

Is most of the ppl in santa barbara rich?

^^Well the housing here is very expensive. But I live in SB and I'm not rich (parent income less than $25K.) There are definitely some very rich people here, though. What exactly are you concerned about?

so when does the actual acceptance package come?
And what's included in it?
for engineering majors

About that video-it's somewhat accurate though I disagree with the "if you're blond, tan, etc. you're in." That's just too stereotypical. You will need discipline, though, to ensure you don't spend everyday at the beach.

(Source: I'm currently a HS student in SB and have been to UCSB a lot).

Odd question, but I don't get service in my own house with AT&T/Cingular and I'm thinking of switching to Verizon. If you know, how is the service for both cellular providers in the dorms/on campus?

Re: imgoing2college

Hah, alright, that's what I was most concerned about. That just made it sound horrid.

I'm not really even considering going though, I was just wondering. The ocean views on campus are really the only thing that appeals to me about UCSB.

Skad, I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not...

No, I'm not. Hahah. That was actually what I was thinking about. I don't really fit in with that stereotype of person....so I would probably be unhappy being surrounded by them.

I was going to include that in the post with the link, but I decided I'd wait to see if someone would just point it out on their own....and since you did, I find it safe to assume that it isn't true.

sorry again, but if i change my major and it does not go through do I just keep the old one I had before?

I got into the College OF Engineering but I really want to switch out to Biological Sciences...would that work though?

I am just worried because I'm scared that if I want to change majors before I submit my Statement of Intent to Register they might take back my admissions...

UCSB is letting me change my major before I intend to register haha

Hah alright just checking.

But yeah, I've lived in SB all my life and don't get me wrong I enjoy beaching it up sometimes...but I'm not tall, blond, or tan. Usually, the people who beach it up too much won't make it to the next year or are from SBCC.

I really doubt they'll take your admissions away, |1|.

you can also change you major once you're a student here

I got accepted into Pre-CompSci in the liberal arts college. Should I try to transfer into the engineering school? I just realized that they have it in both.

im thinking about going to ucsb for comp sci, but like some ppl, im not a party kind of person at all... im not anti-social, but im sorta quiet and shy...

so which dorm would you suggest for ppl like me?? is there a dorm thats far away from the party and the beach but not completely isolated??

amby262roy,

The UCSB Chem E program is ranked 17th for undergraduate and 9th for graduate.

How much is off campus housing? Money is going to be my decision about whether or not I will go here.

HOw does guarantee housing work? How do i get housing for all 4 years.

hey... im at out of state and really like ucsb

what do you think i should aim for to get it (sat, gpa, etc.)

any other adivce to help a out of stater get in

Quick question.

Are there any public tennis courts in the campus? Are there usually people using them?

Just wondering, I play varsity tennis in high school and I want to keep playing often once I'm at SB :D

there are tennis courts because i remember reading about lighted tennis courts in various residence halls. I play tennis too.

my question never got answered tho, is a car necessary for living on campus?
