Hi @RPNmom, we’re still trying to figure that out, but we’re hoping within the first two weeks of March - we’re reading through them as quickly as we can! We are just as eager to get them out as the students are to receive them!
Hi @Whit14 , first of all, congratulations on your acceptance!! We’ve had a very competitive applicant pool this year, so you should feel very proud of that accomplishment!
I would echo the advice that @Snowdog gave. Unfortunately, we are not a school that can guarantee meeting need. However, it is absolutely worthwhile to reach out to the Financial Aid Office to see what is feasible and if they may be able to increase your financial aid package. You can reach them at the email finaid[at]champlain.edu (of course changing the [at] to the @ symbol, I’m just trying to make sure they don’t get spambots or anything). I would also advise you to reach out to the admissions counselor from your territory during this conversation - if you don’t already know who that is, you can figure out who that might be here: http://www.champlain.edu/admissions/undergraduate-admissions/contact-undergraduate-admissions/undergraduate-admissions-counseling-staff
I hope that helps you to navigate the financial aid process. Please let me know on here if you have any additional questions.
Thanks @Nicole
Thanks @NicoleChamplain for the information about the RD schedule. As the decisions roll in, it seems there is a lot of overlap in dates for accepted student open houses and the weekends are starting to fill up. This is a happy conundrum but we do not want to miss out on Champlain’s event, should the fat envelope arrive!
@NicoleChamplain I am sure you are super busy but…any updates on those RD decisions? Thanks so much!
Hi @snowdog! We are working as hard as we can to get them out the door. The hope is to start getting them into the mail by the end of this week, though I’m sure a few more will be going out over the next few weeks, as we’re still catching some stragglers!
Thanks @NicoleChamplain, much appreciated
So…did they go out?! Nothing in today’s mail…! [-O<
My son got his acceptance in Monday’s mail. Super excited!!! @Nicole I assume we’ll hear about merit/aid in the next week or so?
@Snowdog Many of them went out, but there’s still some lingering populations that need to go out - particularly for our limited enrollment programs. I’m hoping they’ll go out next week. Sorry for the wait, hopefully something will get there soon! @RPNmom Congratulations to your son!! Yes, financial aid will go out within the next two weeks.
Ok many thanks for the update @NicoleChamplain. Congrats @RPNmom and your family!
Thanks @Snowdog. Hope you guys get good news as well!
@Nicole funny enough we got the same acceptance package from Champlain again today… Nice to be wanted!! (lol)
Hmmm @RPNmom, you shouldn’t have gotten a duplicate! Could you either send me or the main admissions email your name and info about the duplicate letter? I just want to check up on why that might have happened! My email is nlentine[at]champlain.edu, or the main admissions email is admissions[at]champlain.edu (avoiding typing it out the right way just in case spambots catch it). Thank you!
@NicoleChamplain so sorry to be a pain in the neck…can you say whether all decisions have mailed at this point? Thanks!
@Snowdog No need to worry, you’re not a pain in the neck! We have a few more going out this week. Hopefully the majority will be out the door by the end of this week, so I’d imagine that you should hopefully have a decision in your hand either at the end of this week or beginning of next week. I’m sorry for the delay…it’s a multi-step process sometimes, especially with some majors that are limited enrollment!
Ok thanks very much!
Just received an Accepted Student Weekend invitation by email…does that mean my son has been accepted? We haven’t gotten anything else in regular mail or email.
Hi @pkwmom , that is strange! Can you either email me or the main admissions with that predicament and your son’s name, and we can check on that? My email is nlentine[at]champlain.edu, and the main admissions email is admissions[at]champlain.edu. Thank you!
OK…email sent to you with a cc to Admissions. Thanks for your help!
Hi Nicole, I’m hoping you see this.
I worked two full time jobs and had an infant son at the time, while attending a community college. Grades ranged from 2.4 to 2.5. Obviously I did poorly. Transferred to a different school, and brought it up to a 2.8 and a 3.2. Overall leaving me with a 2.8 accumulative GPA. That’s what I graduated with, including my transfer credits.
Now I have the ability to stay home and attend Champlain, but I’m concerned that my old record will come back to haunt me.
I submitted my resume, my application, and my transcripts. Now I’m just waiting
The requirement is a minimum of a 2.4 to get in, are they only going to be concerned with my final graduation GPA? Thanks! Worried that my past is going to haunt me, lol
