Hi Karensue2! In-State students will hear about scholarships with their acceptance letter. Out-of-State students go through a separate merit scholarship review process that requires an application. Those students will receive the application with their acceptance letter and then will hear back soon after the scholarship application due date.

Hi 12Artleye! That would come across as a demonstrated interest. Also, keep in mind that we look to see if a student has come for a visit when reviewing their application, so if you havenât already, I would also recommend coming for a campus visit.

Hey OXCGirl1029! Yes, Iâm talking about open houses, daily visits, junior visit days⊠any type of official campus visit. Visiting campus is a way to demonsrate interest in TCNJ and we always look for that when reviewing an application.

Question: How many rounds of decision mailing will there be? And, are the stronger applicants notified first? Will the PAWS account be updated the same day the letters go out?

when will decisions be posted online? I unexpectedly moved to a different town after I submitted my application, so it takes a extra few weeks for mail to come to my house :(

Hi Everyone! Congratulations to those who were accepted and welcome to the TCNJ community! PAWS should be updated very soon (if not already) and when you go to your account, you should be able to accept your admissions and pay your deposit. If you havenât heard just yet, it doesnât mean that your application is weaker, it just means that we havenât reviewed it yet. We saw over 10,200 applications this year and weâve only been reading for a few weeks. We certainly havenât gotten through all of them. There will be a few more rounds of decision mailings before April 1. Hold tight!

Most of our in-state scholars were notified of scholarships with their acceptance. There are a number of students where we are waiting on ranks from their high schools before we can offer an award. If you havenât heard about scholarship or the honors program just yet, I would wait another 2 weeks to see if we were waiting on that information for you.

Spanky12 - You should call us at 609-771-2131 so that we can update your address and make sure we are sending our communications to the right place. Give us a call on Monday so we can get that straightened out!

Hi Willthethrill32! The next wave will probably be sent out in a few weeks. We havenât decided exactly when yet but we will be sending out a few more rounds of decisions before the April 1 notification date.

Hi. I received an email today saying Iâve been placed under second review. I was wondering is that like being wait listed or deferred and when would we hear back for our decision?

So did my S. The email said it was NOT an equivilent to being waitlisted or deferred. However, it seems as though it is suggesting to provide more information about why you want to attend TCNJ - so I would logically think the credentials provided are borderline. Can admissions shed any light as preferred next steps?

Hi Everyone! For those who received the second review email, it is NOT the same as being deferred or as being offered a spot on the wait list. It is exactly what it says⊠No decision has been made on the application just yet and it is still under review. We certainly encourage applicants to fill out the survey and let us know a little more about themselves. Responding to that survey, along with sending in any new information is considered demonstrated interest and itâs something that looks favorable when your application is being reviewed again.

Hi JMCollege! The College of New Jersey accepts incoming students to the Honors Program during the
freshman admissions process. Many factors are taken under consideration including
scores on standardized tests, rank, and major. Although there may be students who receive automatic
admissions to the Honors Program, typically the Office of Admissions will forward a list of
potential candidates to the Honors office for consideration. On average, these applicants have
SAT scores ranging from 1300 or higher on the Critical Reading and Math portions and are in
the top 15% of their graduating high school class. An invitation to apply will be mailed in the spring to
admitted students who have the above criteria and who have shown interest in diverse areas
of study. Final admissions decisions will be made in April.
