@Amandurrs: Check in only starts at 9:00, so I’m assuming it’s fine if you show up at 9:30. And I’ve never taken Yolobus, but it should get you there roughly on time. I’ve never heard anyone complain about it being late before, but I also don’t know many people who have ridden the Yolobus to/from Sac.

Does the school give any financial aid or scholarship money to out of state students?

I’ve ridden the Yolobus to/from Sac before, and unless they’re completely packed with people getting off at different stops (this is true during school breaks when students are heading home–then the delay is around 5 minutes at most), they tend to be on time.

I’m confused abut what to do for the pre-event night; so if I am taking a flight by myself the day before the event and i take the yolo bus to campus where do i go from there? Will I be staying on campus? Do i sign up somewhere? What time should i get there? I was looking for information on the orientation page but there’s not much on the pre-event thing.

@Amandurrs: Transfers need to check in by 10:00 AM the first day of orientation. First years must check in by 1:00 PM.

@bluesunshine: You’ll sign up at Tercero Main sometime the night before orientation starts, and you’ll be staying in Tercero. I’m not entirely sure what time check-in actually is, though. I think they’re still kind of figuring it out.

@bluesunshine: I spoke to the people in the Orientation office about the pre-event night. They said that you can check-in at Tercero Main (like JeSuis said) between 6pm and 10 pm.

Wow thank you both so much! I was kinda worried, I appreciate it :)

Hello SopranoKitty and JeSuis,
On Orientation last day, when does class registration starts, please?
I am assigned 3:00 time slot on July 30th for School of Biological sciences.
I am VERY concerned that my time is so late, so by the time I sign up for classes I will not get into CHEM2A.
Will it be all gone by then, and what do you suggest to do?
Thank you

Also orientation ends at 5:00 p.m right? So what time would you suggest I book a flight back home? 7:00p.m? And is there’s a special bus for those going to orientation at the Amtrak station? Is that far from the sacramento airport?

To get from the Amtrak station to campus, take the A-line. To get from campus to the airport, take Yolobus 42A (you would need to go to the Memorial Union to get on this bus line).

@SueNew: How do you know when your registration time is? My son is also a Biology major and he will be attending the Orientation session for July 29 and 30. But so far, I have not seen any notification for a registration time.

@sdmomx3: You can check through sisweb.ucdavis.edu. Click LOGIN, then Student Services, then Registration, then Check Appointment times. If your son registered for orientation, it should be in the afternoon of his last day at orientation (it will be the same as everyone else from his orientation.)

@JeSuis: Thank you. Your information has been very helpful. Maybe my son will have you as his orientation leader!

Glad I could help! And it’s definitely a possibility, although there are 70 of us! Tell him to keep an eye out for a third year geology major :D

HI, im an international student and my orientation starts at September 18th
It will be way too late if I pick my class at that time, and i think all of the classes will be full.
So do i choose classes online during my Pass 1 appointment time?

They open up more spots in some classes before each orientation, so you’re not at a disadvantage if you go to a later one. Also, what time does sisweb say your pass 1 time is? If you’re registered for orientation, your pass 1 should be during orientation.

Is orientation required for transfer students? I signed up for the 20th of June but I just found out from my summer job that I have to leave to Alaska by the 19th. Once I leave there, I’d be gone for 6 weeks. So the later orientations aren’t possible for me either.

edit: Just read the entire thread and saw my question was already answered. Thanks!

The sisweb said that my pass 1 date is on August 14th, which is not my orientation date (September 18th)

Ah, just the thread I was looking for.

Ok, so I registered for the August 5 - 6 orientation date because it was the only date I could work with. However, I’m also registered for summer courses at UCD. On the days of orientation my classes will run from 12:10 - 1:50 (August 5) and 11:00 - 12:50 (August 6). What are the typical hours orientation runs? I read that it starts at 9:00 am, but I’m not completely sure when it ends. There’s no way that I can skip class on the first day (and preferably not the second day), but I can attend orientation up until my class starts and right after. Would that work?

Hello,
I can’t attend the UCD Freshman orientation because I am taking a trip and it can not be rescheduled. I am a bio major but possibly want to change to psychology. I also don’t know what classes to pick. Is there a way I can email or meet with someone to discuss this? I know since I am not attending I have to do this online BUT I want to make sure I do it correctly… Thanks!
