Hi Grace! I recently got a job as in retail and I am not sure if I should update that in my account. I don’t think it will influence my application, and I don’t want to seem like a nuisance with only two ish weeks until decisions, but I’m not sure whether I should mention it or not because the common app asks for work experience and whatnot. Advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! —I also posted this in the EA thread but got no response:)

katy- that’s great that you’ve found a job! I wouldn’t worry about updating your application with that information at this point. You will be able to note it on your midyear report, though, if you like- there is space for “Additional Information” if you would like to let us know about it if you are admitted or deferred.

Still no response from my regional counselor…

Again, same here.

The Application Credentials page has disappeared from my UChicago account. Good or bad thing?

Heinochus - same thing happened to me.

November 30th was the deadline for sending all your credentials. Just like the Request an Alumni Interview page, the date has passed and so the page is gone. That’s all.

Thank you Grace!

YAY, a response.

Since there’s a lot of activity on the boards at the moment, I’m bumping this so that people can ask me questions without me having to surf through one billion other posts. No, I can’t tell you when decisions are coming out, but I’ll be happy to try and answer any other questions.
Hope that’s ok, and ask away!

Glad you’re feeling better!

UChicagoPSAC - what do you believe the purported rate of decisions will be this year?

Is it true that the increase in early applicants will result in a smaller percentile of acceptance for early actioners, or, has the number of prospective students accepted also risen this year (from roughly 1100-1200 last year)?

Thanks a lot for your input - I’m very anxious about what will happen this year :(

RedCatharsis- anything I would say regarding actual rate would be conjecture, so I can’t make any real statement about that. We did have a record number of EA applications this year and expect the number of RD applications to be larger as well, the plan is to keep the class size similar to in past years, but you’ll have to wait it out to see the actual acceptance rate and number of students deferred/waitlisted.

Out of mere curiosity…when decisions are posted online, will a little view decision tab show up on our account or what? In other words, how will our decision show up on our account?

When do you think UChicago will release its results?

Never mind, I just saw your post on another page. Thanks!

Why does Chicago make the release date and time a secretive process?

Typically, about what percentage of students who apply EA are deferred?

alfassa, i can answer that:

To make our lives miserable.

I’ve already slacked of so much in class because of the tension!

Please, that wasn’t mean to be a negative question at all. I’m just curious. There has to be some reason is what I think.

Oh, i was just joking lol

I guess sarcasm doesn’t translate well on the internet…

Internetz srs bisnes eh? : )
