I was scanning through the FR questions of 2011 for APES and saw that there were questions on using Sugarcane and Tar pits as sources of energy. Now these aren’t covered in Smartpants , so , say I just did smartypants and went for this exam , how would I get an answer ? Is there some (general) method of attempting such questions ?

I have taken a high school chemistry class before (however it wasn’t AP). It was just normal chemistry. That was last year. However, if I read Barron’s chemistry thoroughly—is it enough to get a 5 (without a textbook)? What I read all of barrons and PR? Is the textbook necessary. I have heard people reading ONLY Cliff’s for AP Biology…can ONLY Barron’s be used for AP Chem

APES is a breeze. I didn’t learn anything the whole year really, class was a joke (I did learn a few basic concepts, like eutrophication (big concept for test) and ozone stuff)

Ended up with a 4 with prep time of less than 3 days.

Just make sure to get a review book (smartypants is good for APES)

Is it enough to use smartypants as the sole book for prep ? Or should o refer to PR as well ?

Anyone have predictions of what the frqs will be for APES? Have your teachers heard any hints from the workshops they go to?
