There should be a towel rod on your closet door if you're in Unit 1 or Unit 2.

But Unit 3 doesn't have a towel rod? :$

Just use the end of your bed.

Castel - Not sure...

Do the bathrooms in Unit 3 have lockers to store all our hygiene supplies like shampoo, body wash, toothbrush, etc.?

^^ Yes

the bathroom lockers are more narrow than standard gym lockers... so some shower caddies can't fit thru the front

thanks sooo much... a couple more questions..

do people go to the beach often? are there snowy mountains anywhere close-ish for snowboarding/skiing?

beaches are freezing during winter in NorCal, water temp is around 55 deg or lower. more ppl go during summer/spring but getting to the beach is hard for frosh since most ppl don't have cars.

for snow people go to tahoe which is about a 3 hr drive up interstate 80. great resorts and skiing areas.

When are UC applications usually ready? Does early decision for UC's exist?

Application must be submitted Nov 1 to end of November, but the questions and process can be viewed earlier.

No early decision.

Why are there so many science/math/etc. majors on here? Where are my poli sci majors at?

I meant, when are the applications ready for download online?

blueducky: It may be different for prospective freshmen, but the transfer application was available Oct. 1 last year. It could not be submitted until Nov. 1, however, and the due date was Nov. 30. Hope that helps.

Thanks Ethan.

How big of a backpack should we take with us to college? Do we need to take our textbooks to class often?

chickadee2586: cause only science people are geeky enough to continuing going on cc forums after they've been going to berk

RaNe - You should be able to use the same backpack you used for high school. You shouldn't have to really bring your textbooks to class often (if at all).

Basically because science/math majors are smart enough to use a computer .... jk...... or maybe not.

The CalSO people told me to wait to not to sign up for my R&C class during Phase 1 until I got my AP score. Such great advice >_>.

Now I'm kinda stuck with my schedule because there doesn't seem to be any available spots in every class. I'm waitlisted to an English R1A class, so is there any advice to what I should do? I'm signed up for only 9 units right now.

Do professors allow students to take finals a day or even a few hours earlier? Will they be more likely to if I ask them months in advance?

^ Depends on what class and who's teaching...

If it's a science major pre-req (ie Chem 1a, 3a/b, Bio 1a/b, etc) expect the professor to say "drop the class and take it next semester"

Large classes typically have the same response from professors... since it's impossible to accommodate the needs of hundreds of ppl.

You can still try asking early, it couldn't hurt since it would be better to know a yes/no answer now.
