Hello again @Reflextion,
They usually file them as soon as they can after receiving them. I would talk to your counselor one more time and also check Ecampus often to see if there are any updates to your application.
If there are no updates from either of those options, it’s probably best to send in another if you can.
Hi @SosadhScath,
The Provost’s Office actually handles everything related to the Johnson Scholarship and would be able to answer your question about that with a more exact date than the vague mid march answer. If you would like to give them a call their office phone number is 408 554 4533.

@vschuSCU
What funding might be available through SCU for a club or team, should one be formed? Difficult to find a teacher or coach for free unless one already exists within staff or faculty.
How strict is the ‘Graduate Students’ rule on that club?
Because anyone in Mock Trial knows rules exist solely to be bent in circles…
@jelly765 If you’re looking for notification, it will be sent as a letter. The sending date is mid-March. If you’re one of the semifinalists, look at the email - the details are there.
@vschuSCU My previous financial aid offer is no longer on eCampus and the 2015-16 award letter is blank. Should I be concerned or did it just do that to make room for a new award offer after they processed the FAFSA?
Hello again @SosadhScath,
The website for RSOs(Registered Student Organizations) doesn’t have a lot of detailed information about starting a new club and funding for it, however it does provide the name of the Assistant Director of Student Organizations, Connie Chang, who can do a much better job of answering your questions. Her email address is cychang@scu.edu.
Hi @CuriousDude,
They are updating the financial award letters right now and should be up again in about a week. I asked one of the counselors for a specific date but unfortunately that’s the best estimate they can give at the moment.
Does admissions look at high school gpa and grades a lot if I’m transferring from university or will they focus more on my university grades? I didn’t do too well during high school and really got my stuff together in college and did very well my first semester and my midterm report shows I’m doing great second semester too. I’m afraid that my high school transcript will kill my chances of getting accepted at SCU.
@Reflextion,
Since they only have less than a year’s worth of grades from your university, they also have to look at your performance during high school.They look at your high school grades to see how you have progressed since high school, to see if you’ll have success at Santa Clara. The counselors ask for an evaluation from a college instructor to see how well you perform at the college level, which will indicate if you would be a good fit here.
Hi @sc8311,
Once your application is submitted online and all of the documentation has been received, you should be notified of the decision about 2-3 weeks afterwards.
They received all of my documentation by end of December. I contacted them and they said that they weren’t reviewing until after the deadline which is different from what they state on their website. Has anybody who applied for the graduate program starting in the summer heard back yet?
@sc8311,
Depending on which program you applied for, you would either hear back after May 15th, 2015 for the education programs (except for MATTC), and you should hear back soon for the Counseling Psychology programs, because their deadline was March 13th, 2015. I personally haven’t heard of anybody getting accepted into either of those programs yet for the summer, but if you haven’t contacted them recently I would call/email them to get an estimate of when the decisions will be made.
You can contact their Graduate Admissions and Student Services Coordinator at 408-551-3422 or at ecpadmissions@scu.edu.
Hello Veronica,
I got into the school of arts and sciences, but I want to do business. I was wondering how difficult is to transfer in the Leavey school of business.
Hi everyone. I’ve been accepted to SCU and I plan on attending in the fall. However, I currently have a C in AP Bio (which is what I’m majoring in) and while I do have a chance to bring it up, and I plan to, I’m curious to see if I’m worrying way too much. I spoke to an admissions counselor because I’m just a paranoid person and I’m worrying about having my acceptace revoked, but she told me that if I got anything lower than a B, my application would be up for consideration to potentially be rescinded. She said they like to see A’s and B’s and I understand that but a C seems a bit much to me. It could be because I’m majoring in it. What do you guys think? Should I be really concerned? I would love to hear from any broncos or other experts who’ve lived through this experience.
Hi @pariayoubi,
A lot of the consideration to be rescinded depends on your overall GPA, and how you handle the last term as a senior. If you’re doing well in all your other classes and activities, then you shouldn’t be too worried, however you should still try to raise that C. They mostly just don’t like to see someone who was doing well all throughout high school suddenly go off the deep end and stop trying their last term once they have been accepted.
You mentioned you spoke to an admissions counselor, but I recommend speaking with your specific counselor and let them know where you’re at. Let him/her know what’s going on with you now so they aren’t hearing about it before it’s too late. They really prefer to hear from you directly rather than your high school counselor.
Do you know if there is any kind of special program or support that SCU provides for students on the pre-med track (such as internships or networking with alumnus that are doctors)?
Do you also know any statistics on the acceptance rate of SCU pre-med students to medical schools?
I looked into the pre-med track online, and there isn’t anything specifically about special programs that are aimed at Santa Clara students, however they did provide the email of the pre-med advisor, who would have more detailed information on the subject. His name is Dr. Steven Fedder, and his email is sfedder@scu.edu.
