CC,
I am in an odd situation, so I wanted to come here for advice. Most people received A’s in a class I took this semester. In fact, I may have received one of the lowest grades. I wanted to ask the professor if he could tell me how exactly I performed on the final/on papers/ etc. However, I am apprehensive to do so because I think he may have detected that I was cheating one day, as it could have looked like I may have been (I am not sure if he thinks I did or not). I am wondering if he gave me a lowered grade because of this perceived cheating, and if I actually would have gotten a higher grade if not for this. If I ask him why my grade was what it was, is there a chance he will get annoyed and think “I was nice to this kid at first, now I’m really going to screw him.” I am transferring, so maybe there is not much he can do. I also know he does not really care about anything, so maybe he does not have the energy to pursue this further. However, I am still apprehensive. Do professors get mad and do rash things like this?
If they thought there was cheating and wanted to bring it up, they would have done so.
It could be they thought you cheated and gave you a 0.
I would ask…as long as you do it respectfully then I don’t think they would take any further action given that they haven’t arlready.
If you didn’t actually cheat, then I agree with bopper. If you did cheat, then don’t bring it up
