Asking For a Professor Rec... In a Different City?

From what I've been seeing on these forums, by proper etiquette, you should be providing the envelops/stamps/mailing costs when asking a professor for a recommendation. However, I did research last summer at UT, even though I live in Houston. I've already asked the professor, and he says he's more than willing to write me a letter. But what's the proper way to approach this mailing dilemma?

Mail him an envelope that’s addressed to the Office of Admission.

Envelope-ception, yes?

I would mail the envelope along with a gift card to some national chain restaurant. You will be amazed the amount of people that ask for recs and never bother to do anything for the recomender.
