Asking for an extension in responding to the offer of admission

I just received my letter of acceptance to NCF. I don't particularly wish to attend--it was my financial safety school and I've gotten in to a few schools I much prefer at this point--my parents want me to have the option, in case I come around and choose the cheaper option. In the letter, it says I should let them know within 30 days, but I can request an extension until May 1. I drafted the email but was wondering if someone could read it for me to make sure it sounds fine? I've taken out my name and personal information:

To whom it may concern:

My name is _________ (NCF ID: ________) and I have just received my offer of admission to NCF. While I am thrilled, I must ask for an extension until May 1 in responding to the offer of admission. Please let me know if and when this extension is granted.

Sincerely,

Also, I am sending the email to admissions@ncf.edu. Is this the right address to use? Thank you so much for all of your help!

I'm sure that will be fine. It might be easier to call them up, though. My son spoke with them about the extension, and they did it immediately.

It should be fine. I emailed something along those lines and they sent me a letter in response within a week.
