I had a great teacher before I checked out of high school and got a GED, and she'll be writing a letter of recommendation for my college apps since I was her TA and was very close to her. She had retired from the high school a few months before I checked out. Is she supposed to be listed under Other Recommenders or Teachers?

If you were her student then yeah she goes under teacher. If you were just her teaching assistant then thats other recommenders. If its both, then just under other should be fine.

@Aly310 Yes, I was her student for 2 years Then I became her TA. So she could go under Teachers even though she’s retired? Thank you for your help!

@Aly310 oh, ok. I wanted to ask because there are some colleges that only allow teachers’ recommendation letters. Thank you so much for answering!

And to everyone: Do you guys think it’ll be a problem if I assign a retired teacher under Teachers? As I mentioned in the previous comment, there are some colleges that only allow teachers’ recommendation letters… I was homeschooled (and got a GED) so technically there’s no “teacher” for me anymore. The other ones who are going to write letters for me are teachers in high school, but this one is a retired teacher with whom I’ve kept in touch. What do you think?
