I’ve heard of new laws in the (US) and CA, free community college, pilot Bachelor Programs being used at community colleges, I don’t truly understand it all, can someone enlighten me. I am thinking about going back to get my degree, can I simply start at the four year university level now instead of getting the associate and then going for the bachelor’s? I have roughly 47 credits from community that I did not finish/get my degree in.
I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for statutory enactment and concomitant budgetary approval.
You do not need to complete an Associate degree before transferring, unless the 4-year institution that you want to transfer to requires that you do that. Contact that place, and ask them if you can transfer now.
Such policy changes are mostly at the state level. There may be state policies on what may be required to transfer from a CC to a state university, and these may be changed for various reasons.
So why am I wasting time at a two year college, I wish I would have known that, they jerk my chain every semester for financial papers and make me sweat every disbursement.
@Wesley2 (re post #4): “I wish I would have known that”
I’m confused. Aren’t YOU responsible to “know that?” It’s your life and your future, no one else’s.
Why is it wasting time to be at a two-year college? If you’re taking courses you’ll need for the degree, you’ll end up in the same place, probably for a lot less money.
