Associates Degree completed while in high school

Hello, all. I am a junior in high school. As I graduate in 2016, not only will I receive an advanced diploma, but also an associates degree from a local community college. My question is: would colleges find this impressive?? I would like you to understand that my high school only offers ONE AP class (that I have taken: VA and US History) and no IB classes. I chose to complete the associates degree while still in high school not only due to the lack of academic rigor in my school, but also because I felt like this would help me stand out. Thoughts?? All criticism is welcome

the top colleges expect you to challenge yourself so this will appeal to that but I wouldn’t call it “impressive” since it’s expected.

Thanks for the input! I’m also hoping that being first gen and my income bracket being <80,000 will help. I am basically blindly going into this college admissions process alone.

Keep reading around the site. Make sure you have a safety school you would definitely be admitted to, can definitely afford and would be happy to attend. Go the Financial Aid forum and look at the stickies for some schools that offer good merit aid for high stats.
