But I'm not the shortest like there are actually a lot of guys shorter than me right now, used to be more in middle school but they all grew. But I'm definitely not the shortest girl I know at least 20 or so in my grade.

Just a random question but does it ever seem to you that every generation keeps getting shorter on average? Because I look at some of the freshman I know I definitely wasn't that short. They all range from 4' 10''-5' 1'' seriously. Even the guys. Its a strange phenomena...lol

It sucks cause my grandpa was 6'3 and the other one was 6'2...
My grandma was 5'6 and other one was 5'6 also...
My dad is only 5'8 and my mom is 5'3 =[ (*** happened lol)

For you skinny guys, lift? 135 6'1...that's sad. Objectively stating facts, no offense meant there.

I'm at 5'10~5'11 (somewhere between the two, I think), sophomore, 15. I don't have great genetics either, my parent's aren't that tall, but I exercise regularly and eat a lot. While genetics is the key component to height, other factors can help considerably. I'm still growing.

Try to eat a lot (preferably stuff with high protein, like milk/dairy products and meat), get in some exercise, and get decent amounts of sleep. Oh and, try not to get stressed.

Gl...at 5'3 I can't quite describe the feeling for you, even at my height (a little shorter than average male in the U.S.) I see hordes of people taller than I am daily and a lot of my friends are taller too. Hopefully you're still growing.

Well, where I'm from the average height for females is about 5'0'' so believe it or not it isn't really THAT bad...and think you're about average so it doesn't really matter that much...

I'm just naturally very skinny. It's not like I'm not in good shape. I don't know what you mean by saying "that's sad." It's not like I'm anorexic.

I exercise regularly but have never seen the point in lifting weights.

I was 5'3" 95lbs. when I started HS, and when I told people my weight a lot wouldn't believe me, so it's not that skinny. I put on 3 inches and 30lbs. over the course of the year and nobody seemed to notice. Now I'm 5'8" 130 as a senior.

"Natural" ectomorphs with high metabolism can get very fit and onto decent weight with exercise and the right diet, if that's what you're saying. 6'1 135 is anorexic, eh, if you don't consider that anorexic (or incredibly skinny), I don't know what is.

Wow. I guess I don't really know what to say, then.

I wasn't trying to criticize your diet or anything, btw. As it is the case that both of us will think our own ways, I don't think it'll matter.

Wow, you guys are all really skinny. What do you eat to stay so thin?

I'm like 6' and 165 lbs. I weigh double some of you, and my bmi is right in the middle of "healthy weight". (Although, you know, I think I could lose 10 pounds.)

Hmmm... I'm 5'3-5'4ish and I'm around 138 pounds. I'm not fat, but I'm not skinny. I'm just kinda normal. I'm pretty athletic, I work out, I bike, and I play tennis. Is drinking milk to get taller a myth? I'm hoping it's not because I'm drinking so much. I know milk is a good source of calcium, so that's gotta count for something, right?

i dont think its a myth, i have a gallon every two days and im 2 inches taller than my predicted height. i think the thing about coffee stunting growth is though, i started drinking coffee when i was 6. i think the thing with milk could have something to do with all the growth hormones and w/e they give to cows these days too. whats good mass market meat?

For a guy, 5'3 is pretty short. It's not that big a deal. I mean, it's not like I'm a horrible person just because I'm short, but seeing the look of surprise on people's faces when I tell em I'm a sophomore is pretty annoying.
