ASU or UofA?

I'm majoring in biological sciences and got accepted to both UofA and ASU. I'm planning to get to PA school after I finish. Which means PA schools are really competitive. I was wondering which school science courses are a lot harder to earn an A in? Btw I am from Phoenix so if I go to ASU it would be a lot cheaper because if I go to UofA, I would have to pay for living in dorms for the next 3-4 years. Also I havent applied for scholarships, but got the max pell grant and don't want my parents to pay for anything. Which school should I go to?

asu…since it would be cheaper. you are a pell student, so you need to keep costs low unless you get full aid.

what are your stats? how come you didnt get any merit from either school?

honestly, im new to all of this and just graduated from Cc. So I have no idea what a merit is at all :(

oh, you are a transfer. Merit is a merit scholarship. It is mostly for incoming frosh although your schools or state may have merit scholarships for transfers.

doesnt your state offer merit scholarships for its best students?

oh! for UofA it’s 2000 dollars. I did graduated with honors distinction and ptk member and only a 3.5 gpa though

I would say that neither school is going to be easier on average. I agree with mom2collegekids, go with the cheaper option. And do some research on the professors teaching the classes. My D found rateMyProfessors to be a good resource when used with a dose of skepticism and realizing that scores probably tend to the low side because unhappy people are more likely to post.

Thanks! I go to that site too and update it for every one of my classes for future students, good or bad classes. I will keep your comment in mind, thanks!!

To clarify I think OP mean UofA The University of Arizona, so both UofA and ASU are in state and likely offer very similar merit/need aid. You are like most ASU students from Phoenix and therefore looking to live at home to avoid dorm costs, which is smart, the majority of ASU students do this, but be aware this does impact the college experience since there is less school spirit than UofA. But on a cost basis ASU is I am sure the lesser cost since you will avoid room & board costs at UofA, understand what you want from your college experience, UofA is very different from ASU, UofA is many more out of state, ASU is many more Phoenix-Metro students more often than not living at home with parents often all 4 years. regarding Biology I think you will find either school is good enough, since UofA has a medical school you will find more Pre-med students in Tucson, but if you are not considering that then I am sure ASU will suffice.
