After getting their SAT subject scores back, people usually wonder whether they should retake so really, what's the score range for retaking SAT IIs?

It depends on what schools you are applying to but here’s what I’ve figured out from other CC posts:
Ivy League quality: 750+
Very Good schools: 700+
Other Schools: 650+

I think anyone who scored under 650 should strongly consider retaking it.
I know this isn’t very clear but I hope it helps.

I would completely agree with NDL. Also you want to do really good on the test that coincides with your intended major.

What would American fall under? I got a 660 in Lit, and it will be sent there because I wanted to take advantage of the free reports. I will be taking Bio and USHistory in November (I am a rising senior), would it be worth it to retake? I’m disappointed because American is my #1 choice and they specifically recommend two+ subject tests for homeschoolers. :(

See when you say 750+ I get a bit confused. Will it count against someone if they (meaning me) get a 750 exactly?
