Pastafarian/ agnostic here. :)

I am pretty much a theist. I may seem stupid to everyone on here for being faithful, but it’s just the way I am. Though I am somewhat religious, I have to admit that I love Christopher Hitchens. He is excellent at arguing and he is hilarious. I don’t anyone can truly be “gnostic” or whatnot. At the end of the day, you just don’t know. I guess I don’t want to risk it. But that mentality entails putting faith into every God and somehow follow every religion. So yes, I am a theist, not an atheist.

@eenumber1 All hail His Noodliness, the Flying Spaghetti Monster!

Evangelical Pastafarian

Agnostic.

Seeing how you guys describe yourselves, I could maybe say I’m an agnostic. But honestly, I just really don’t give a crap about religion, especially when my mom tries to shove it down my throat, it pushes me away even more. Last year I even told her that I really don’t care and she flipped lol.

I’m Christian, but I’m very liberal in my thinking and am pretty darn open-minded to things. I grew up in a Christian home and pretty much rejected it and was agnostic. Only recently have I actually converted to Christianity (think 1 month ago). I rejected religions because of logical arguments, but I feel that religion goes a bit beyond simple logic. I don’t want to make this thread into an arguments about the merits of religion because that never turns out well. If someone would like to PM me to have an open-minded conversation about religion, that would be fine though.

Oh, @autoexec I think there are many pros to having faith; in fact, I really wish I did, but alas, that logic really gets to me.

My lack of religion isn’t really about logical arguments either, because I don’t really separate the intellectual and emotional aspects of existential questions in my mind. Some people are religious because it comforts them, and on some level I have the views I have because they comfort me (for intellectual reasons, but also for emotional ones) and keep me sane. So I basically agree with what you’re saying, but I definitely don’t think that going “beyond simple logic” will necessarily lead to becoming religious. It depends on the person.

I’m not sure. I live in an Evangelical Christian family. I don’t go to church. I believe in something that’s there an takes care of us. I guess agnostic. :)

I believe very strongly in God, but I don’t follow a religion…what does that make me?

@ibad96 that makes you awesome.
