Hey guys I'm a football player who is currently being recruited by several ivy league schools. But the problem is my GPA isn't so hot but I did get a 28 on the ACT (1260 SAT). I fit into their "band system" but will I be able to be accepted with a less than stellar GPA?

You’re in the wrong forum, buddy.

But, having worked in the athletics department, I can tell you that if you’re good enough grades won’t matter nearly as much as you might expect. Keep me posted on how the process goes. I’d be glad to help you out in any way I can.

Grade don’t matter as much as people say? Really? I mean I have decent grades but I really wanna go to Columbia or Cornell. And I have been on unofficial visits to both schools this summer and from the looks of it, they seem pretty interested

Ducks,

Call up your recruiting coordinator at Columbia and they can walk you through the process and help you with admissions. Every year, schools at all levels accept athletes into their programs that would not have otherwise been admitted. Whether its Columbia or a powerhouse FBS program like Michigan or Ball State (lol), exceptions get made for student-athletes they feel will add value to the university and program.

Hi,
My name’s brittney and I’m currently getting recruited by Columbia (just got back from my official visit) as well! I got the same ACT score as you and I’m a solid b student. If you don’t mind…did you get in? And what was your gpa?

Thanks so much!
Brittney

Tell me it isn’t true.
