athletic culture

how are athletes viewed and what is the general athletic culture of the school?

The Quiddach is quite serious. ;-P

Bump, I’d like to know about this too.

My D always reported that there is no different view of athletes vs any other activity. Few students attend events unless they have a friend playing. The teams are close knit and play their sport for their own enjoyment. Vassar students are generally very tolerant of each other’s interests and views.

ctParent2006 is correct. Students do support their friends in athletic events - especially on special occasions like a senior day. There is not a distinct athletic culture, it blends into campus just like the theater, music , art culture. When there are significant events in these areas as well as athletics , many of their Vassar friends support them. For example, the auditorium is filled with students for the student concerto concert. And the stands were close to full on the senior day for the swim team which recognizes the accomplishments of the senior swimmers.
