UDEL has a 5 for social life in the Fiske Guide, does that mean that a non-drinker would feel uncomfortable/have nothing to do on the weekends at UDEL?

I’m not entirely sure I understand what you’re asking, but the answer to what you’ve posted is “No, there’s lots for a non-drinker to do on weekends.”

UDel is a very sociable place with very nice kids. Sports are big, Main Street Newark runs right through campus, there are parks within easy walking distance, organized trips to NYC and Baltimore and DC. The city of Wilmington is a 15-minute drive, and Philadelphia about 45 minutes. There is public transportation to both.

There is definitely things for non-drinkers to do. Yes, there is a party scene, but all schools have some of that. I know my son has done everything from attending the school’s sports events to bowling and movies on Main Street to watching the Jets game on Sunday at Wild Wings. He also plays basketball a few times a week and is always up for pick-up games of other sports as well.

He has also gone to parties, especially in the beginning of the semester but not so much anymore.

I was worried about this too. I don’t drink either and I was worried about feeling out of place when and if i was to be accepted. I’m sure there are different things to do but I don’t want to feel totally out of the loop either only because of my choice not to drink.

I heard there is a LOT of weed their is this true?
