Atrocious crimes done to a Columbia student

Pretty horrifying. Click at own risk.

The time crept by so slowly and painfully that the 23-year-old Columbia University journalism student had decided it was time to end her life.

Over many torturous hours, she had been repeatedly raped, sodomized and forced to perform oral sex, a prosecutor told a jury on Thursday. The accused, Robert A. Williams, 31, had doused the woman’s face and body with boiling water and bleach, forced her to swallow handfuls of pills and to chase them with beer, sealed her mouth with glue, and bound her wrists and legs with shoelaces, cords and duct tape, said the prosecutor, Ann P. Prunty. And now, Ms. Prunty said, he was asking the woman to gouge out her own eyes with a pair of scissors.

NY Times: Prosecutor Details Rape That Lasted 19 Hours

The poor girl.

omg it seriously hurt just to read that!
wow how can anyone do something like that?

oh my god. i hope that creep suffers in jail

Hmm, when I heard the broadcast report on 1010WINS today, it was a lot less detailed.

It certainly takes a unique kind of person to commit such a crime.

Oh dear God.. I cringed when I read about the eyelid part..

Maybe this is what comes from watching too many SAW movies. How sick can you get.

Wow. That is absolutely, mind bogglingly disgusting. I hope he rots in prison.

Well, death penalty you just have a new supporter. This is just so sadistic and gratuitous.

I nearly cried while reading this. It was too much to take, too much. If anyone's seen the movie An American Crime, this could be paralleled to it.

I though I was reading something out of a Stephen king novel. This guy should spend a long time in jail.

Isn't this the part where the columbia hater, Poster_X or something, comes out of the woodwork and tries to convince everyone that Columbia isn't a safe place?

I don't think anyone is going to turn something so tragic and disgusting into an argument for a petty 'my college is better than yours' discussion over the internet.

ah, you will learn, young padawan. the idiot force is strong with this message board.

The perpetrator won't last long in prison and his demise at the hands of his fellow inmates is likely to be just as violent as what he put his victim through. You reap what you sow.

What? Should he rot in prison? No. He should rot and burn in hell...it's much more painful; he should have a taste of his own medicine.

man, that's nastyyy. Seriously, it would take a lot of creativity and imagination to do that to somebody...sickening and disturbing.

I cried when I heard about this last year, and I cried again when the details re-emerged during the trial. I hope he has a slow, painful death in prison and then burns in hell a la Dante's eighth circle.

Convicted to a Life Sentence. They should send him to Afghanistan, he'll get publicly stoned and hanged. Hopefully worse.

This creep deserves to suffer, no point in stoning him and letting him off the hook that easy.

Why does inhumane torture as a form of punishment have to be illegal in the US...

Honestly..

I read this a while ago, and I seriously had nightmares.

Normally when I read a gruesome story, or watch something gruesome, I don't have any reaction to it, let alone have nightmares about it.

But the fact that something so terrible happened in real LIFE, in a city that I live 1 hour away from...yeah, it's really terrifying.

I almost felt like throwing up too, and crying as well (yeah, I'm a male, but..I don't know, maybe I took it too much to heart)
