Attached resume

On Penn's application, it says that I can attach an activities sheet or a resume. A couple of questions:

(1) How long should it be?
(2) What should I include? (responsibilities, major achievements within each extracurricular, note the selectivity of certain awards programs?)

If you attach a sheet, do not title it as a resume. It's considered pretentious by admissions officers (according to Acing the College Application by Michele A. Hernandez, a former Dartmouth admissions officer)

She does, however, recommed attaching an 'Activity Sheet' that you set up grid-style in a program like Miscrosoft Excel with the columns Activity, Years Active, Position(s) Held, and a brief but informative description that details your specific role and involvement.

It's a pretty good book to flip through. I wouldn't call it an admissions Bible, but it's informative, coming from an Ivy admissions officer's POV. My local library had a few copies on hand.

She says to include activities, awards, and achievements, but only include activities that you devote a significant amount of time to (at least 1 hr/week)

Right..so include ECs, part time work, etc...do not include anything which is already on your application, ie SAT scores, GPA, etc....
