EEK! I've been deferred twice now! Anyone else getting deferred left and right?

Once. It feels like life has lost meaning.

If you don't mind me asking...where from?

Tulane and Emory. I hear from Seattle U and Northeastern soon.

yep. (10 char)

Deferment isn't the end of the world. At least you weren't rejected.

I was just deferred again! So that's 3 deferrals now. I don't care as much as I did before though because I've been accepted somewhere.

i feel ur pain been deferred twice

Yea, I was deferred from Caltech and MIT. Being deferred sucks- like, I got the application done and sent it in early, and yet the adcoms apparently have put off my decision. But remember that in being deferred, you've made it one round farther than many (in some cases, most) applicants did.

Deferrals suck especially when it's one of your top choices. I've been deferred 3 times so far and two of them are from my top 2 choices so I'm pretty ****ed. Luckily i got accepted to my third choice with a scholarship(Drexel), but the more i research stuff about Drexel the more I get turned off by it so its just make the deferrals even worse.

deferred from UGA and GT.

send updated SAT scores, another recommendation, or updated senior grades and you may make it off the deferral list. show interest now to your favorite!

I got deferred from Yale which is my top choice school. I don't hear from my next school until February (my safety school).

JerseyMom,

not all schools look at senior transcripts/mid-year reports/etc. Otherwise I'd be set everywhere.

deferred SUNY Stony brook =/

My friend got deferred from Dream School two years ago, and she was heart-broken. She sent in a letter and another rec, and then got ready for a long wait. She had applied to a few other schools earlier, and she started looking into them more. There was one school in particular that, now that it was out of Dream School's shadow, caught her attention. She talked to a few admissions reps and current students and visited the campus again, staying with a student.

In March/April, she was accepted to every school she had applied to- including Dream School. And now she is a sophomore, and loving every minute of it... but not at Dream School. She chose the other school over it, and now she says that being deferred is the best thing that ever happened.

There's still a good chance you will be accepted to your EA school... but just in case, research some of your other choices... you may be surprised.

This tops it all. My friend was deferred FOUR TIMES. Two of them were her number one and number two. Ouch.

Georgetown's Deferral is harsh XD

I was deferred from my fourth school not too long ago lol. Luckily, none of them were my first choice.

I got accepted into 1 school and got deferred at Boston University. :(
