How about University of Rochester? They have a great pre-med program and you might have a good shot since you bring geographic diversity.

Unfortunately I cant make it out to UNC during the school year…its now or never because I live so far away.

And thanks Ill look at rochester.

if you make the NMSF consider USC, which gives automatic discounts to semi-finalists.

Rochester is a great recommendation. Case Western is a similar type school with a great pre-med program and is a little closer to home. They are both highly ranked and smaller in size to some of the schools you have on your list. I also don’t think you would hurt yourself by adding an LAC to the mix.

Ok ill definately take a look at Rochester. And i have looked at USC but am going to pass on it. And Case Western I took a look at and wasnt to interested but thanks. Lastly, Ill probably sound like an idiot, but I never learned what an LAC is.

An LAC stands for Liberal Arts College. They are smaller colleges, generally from 1,000-3,000 students that focus on undergraduate education. Many students like them for the smaller classes, opportunities for research with professors, etc. Many of the top LAC’s are great for premed. It is a nice contrast to the larger national universities you are considering.

Thanks for the info and I am looking but I dont know any good ones for me. Any ideas?

CAUTION…bump

Why not Rice University? It’s a little smaller than those on your list, but I think it would be a high match/low reach and with a top-notch biology/premed program.

Dont know much about it? where is it located?

Houston, Texas

A few suggestions:

Knox College - Very nice LAC that offers gauranteed acceptance to med school to strong students. A little quirky. Safety.
[Early Admission Program to Medical School - Knox College](http://www.knox.edu/Academics/Courses-of-Study/Medicine/Early-Admission.html)

Grinnell College - Elite LAC with a very strong endowment, which is really important for science majors. Does have a bit of “alternative culture” and quirkiness. Match / Low match.

University of Rochester - Medium sized university that is very strong in premed and has excellent FA. Low Match.

U Minnesota?

Indiana U?

Thanks all for the suggestions!
