USC stopped being a safety for any CA HS kid about 10 years ago. A match for top students, yes. I think the OP should come back after results are out. No one here is going to have much sympathy for whinging along the ‘my kid didn’t get into an Ivy early’ all because of their HS, line.

“When I was in college, I got ‘a terrific education, peer group/lifelong friends, and experience that few others get’ at the Ivy that I attended, and I’m just sorry that my kid may only experience that level of education in high school.”

Why do you assume that experience can only be had at an Ivy? Your umbrage is misguided.

Please. There are dozens of colleges that will give your kid a great education, wonderful peer group, lifelong friends and enriching experiences. There is nothing magic about going to “an Ivy.”

The way you are writing makes me think you are a high school kid rather than a parent.

So my question…so what if your kid doesn’t get accepted to an Ivy League school? So what? There are plenty of other very fine colleges in this country that are not members of that athletic conference.

I don’t see this thread going anywhere particularly good, so I am closing it.
