Did you notify Princeton about your finalist status? I'm sure they assume all semifinalists with decent grades and SAT scores become finalists, but I figure notifying the admissions office about something positive can't hurt... but I don't want to annoy them. It's probably a little late to tell them, but I was just wondering if anyone else did. Thanks!

My D figured that Princeton would figure they all were finalists if the midyear report didn't show anything unusual. She didn't send it in.

I sent it in, but I had other awards to send with it too...

If it's important to you, then do it. But keep in mind that they know that you didn't have to DO anything per se to get Finalist status...you just had to not screw up.

I didn't bother; being a finalist won't affect the committee's decision.

I notified them along with telling them about a Model UN award I had won (fittingly at their conference). I don't think its worth sending on its own, but you may as well lump it in if you have other things to tell them.
