This is what Ive been wondering:
Does any college/university in the US (or even the world) have a forum, official or unofficial, for its students? Why not?

My high school has a forum, and its a huge success. So I asked myself, why dont we have a UNC forum? There are lots of advantages in having our own forum:
- Class discussion. Students who take the same course, different sections, can still discuss the class contents and get help from other students.
- Club discussion. Clubs can communicate with members just like regular meetings. This even helps clubs attracting more members by having their activities known to non-members. This might even eliminate the need for club meetings.
- Prospective/incoming students can get help from UNC students.
- Some other things like housing (finding roommates, apartment searching), buy and sell. (No longer have to post ads to bulletin boards)
- There are a few Facebook groups with discuss board, but theyre way unorganized.

In my opinion, this will change the way students communicate. I think this will be a success, and it will have a huge effect. I already have a two-year plan for developing a forum. It has already started. This is the first stage.

My question is what do you guys think about this, having an unofficial forum for our students? Any input is much appreciated.
