Lol, Charlie in Freshmen year I wanted my parents to send me to Ecuador with all my friends on a service trip. We had been to the UVA tour before and my parents remebered the Dean making a comment about those “service” trips. Instead I was shipped on a NOLS trip and it was one of the best experiences I have ever had. While I was on the trip I was misserable. It was supposed to be summer but Wyoming was havig a freak winter. Long story short, I hiked 5+ miles a day in shorts constantly sinking into 4ft deep snow. Now that the trip is over and I survived I would happily trade 1 month in florida on vacation for another NOLS trip.

Your friends might need to brush up on their reading comprehension skills! The only emails we’ve sent in the last few weeks have been reminder emails about the deadline.

I send those mass emails through the back end of the Common App. :)

No one will see a likely letter for well over a month or maybe two. Come on…we haven’t even gotten to the deadline! There are no final decisions at this point! The first phase of the admission process lasts from the time we start reading (November) until mid to late February.

I don’t even want to think about likely letters. Getting one of those babies is like hitting the lotery.

^I’ve received about six of those reminder emails. They make me feel terrible… I realllllly need to finish the supplements but I don’t want to rush them.

UVA doesn’t take off points or anything for students whose apps come in last minute, do they?

^^^

Haha, same here.

I doubt they care, as long as its in on time. UVa admissions seems pretty chill and I like that.

None of us care about the date/time of submission…as long as the apps are in before the deadline!

There no “points” in public school admission processes. UVa doesn’t use a rubric, chart, graph, etc. when reading applications. We take our notes by prose.
